Beginning this month, Visa Business cardholders may now call a 24-hour, toll free telephone number for information on hotel discounts at the more than 11,000 properties in 146 countries available through the Visa Business Hotel Savings Program. These hotel properties range from motels to five-star resorts with discounts up to 60 percent below normal rates.
According to Robert Stock, senior vice president, Credit Products, Visa U.S.A., “The goal of this new service is to provide greater convenience for Visa Business Cardholders who want to obtain hotel discount information. Previously, cardholders had to order a director and look up information themselves. Based on input from members and cardholders, we’ve tailored the program to provide immediate access to make the program even more valuable.”
Visa Business cardholders can simply call 1-800-VISA-616 in the United States or 804-673-1660 collect from outside the country, tell the customer service representative where they are traveling and the representative will provide the following information:
The name of the properties that meet the cardholder’s location, budget and hotel performance;
The Visa Business discount available on the cardholder’s property of choice which may be up to 60 percent below the normal rate; and
The Visa discount code and reservations number for the property
Cardholders (or their travel agents) can then call the property directly, confirm the discounted rate with the reservations desk, and guarantee the reservation with a Visa Business card.
Since 35 percent of spending on Visa Business cards is for lodging, the Hotel Savings Program provides an opportunity for Visa Business cardholders to save money when traveling. It provides the same travel advantages that large corporations enjoy. Some of the rates Visa has negotiated are better than the corporate and preferred rates normally available only to large corporations. Because the program includes more that 11,000 properties around the world, cardholders are likely to find accommodations that meet their needs.
Headquartered in the San Francisco Bay Area, Visa is the world’s largest consumer payment system.
