Rolling Stone magazine will introduce the Rolling Stone Visa card featuring unique benefits and special discounts on music, travel, and entertainment.
The announcement was made today by Kent Brownridge, senior vice president and general manager of Wenner Media Inc., publisher of Rolling Stone.
Issued in association with First USA Bank of Delaware, one of the nation’s largest bankcard issuers, the Rolling Stone Visa card will offer cardholders a Classic card, adorned with an image of a concert crowd, as well as a Gold card. All Rolling Stone Visa cardholders will receive exclusive offers and savings on a wide range of music, entertainment and travel sources through the Rolling Stone Rewards program, a special benefits program that will be continually updated with new offers and discounts. By using the Rolling Stone Visa card to purchase merchandise and/or services through special mail-in offers or at participating retail outlets, cardholders will receive exclusive discounts not available anywhere else. Details of the Rolling Stone Rewards program will be outlined in a special newsletter which cardholders will receive in their monthly statement every four months.

Initially, the Rolling Stone Rewards program will offer cardholders discounts at HMV record stores and Camelot music stores, as well as special savings from Columbia Records and Legacy Recordings, Time Life Music, RPM Music Tours, and New York City’s Fashion Cafe. Special discounts are also available to cardholders towards subscriptions of Rolling Stone magazine, as well as Wenner Media sister publications Men’s Journal and US magazine.
The Rolling Stone Visa Card will be introduced to the public through advertisements in Rolling Stone magazine, as well as through a nationwide direct mail campaign. Consumers can apply for a Rolling Stone Visa card by calling 1-800-347-7887. The Rolling Stone Visa card carries no annual fee and offers a low introductory annual percentage rate, as well as a balance transfer option.
