PointCast Incorporated (www.pointcast.com) has unveiled MarketPlace (www.entrypoint.com/marketplace), a new e-commerce service, in partnership with Visa (www.visa.com). This new service allows PointCasts viewers to research the best buys available, and purchase products and services from leading vendors in a variety of product categories.
MarketPlace, the e-commerce component of PointCasts Web-based business resource center, EntryPoint (www.entrypoint.com), can be used as a valuable and useful tool to locate the best buys on office supplies, computer hardware, travel, cars, books, flowers, gifts and many other products. Advertising sponsors include Acura, barnesandnoble.com, Compaq, Continental Airlines, Gateway, Mercedes-Benz of North America, Microsoft and Toshiba.

Three key technology relationships that will enhance MarketPlace are: Amazon.com, a leading online retailer (for comparison and one-stop shopping); Compare.Net, a leading Internet buyers guide (for product comparison and research); and Impulse! Buy Network, a leading Internet merchandising service (providing special offers on name-brand products and services). These three vendors provide MarketPlace with advanced e-commerce capabilities, allowing enterprise professionals to search for the best price on business-related products and services.

Some of the other special services that are available in MarketPlace include: stock market updates; up-to-date weather forecasts and maps; general Web searches via Snap; job searches via CareerPath; yellow pages, maps and directions via Zip2; and mail/package services from the US Postal Service.
