Business travelers can breeze through some airport security lines with the “Clear” card. And now American Express corporate cardholders can receive preferred pricing on Clears annual membership fees. Clear members have access to a separate, express security lane by using an identity card containing their encrypted fingerprint or iris images. Clear has been operational since July 19, 2005 and now has 75,000 members. The annual fee of $99.95 is charged once applicants are approved by the TSA. American Express will offer Clear to its corporate cardholders, who will receive: preferred pricing on Clears annual membership fee; appointment services that allow them to pre-book times for biometric scanning; and the added convenience when enrolling 50 or more employees, by delivering enrollment kiosks to their office buildings, enabling travelers to sign up for Clear in the convenience of their own offices. Clear will also install enrollment stations in conveniently-located American Express Travel offices including the one at the World Financial Center in the heart of New Yorks Wall Street area.
