While the economy generally sucks there are a number of new card-related holiday promotions to lessen the pinch. For example, Nordstrom, Safeway and Office Depot have added some extra holiday cheer to their card programs. Nordstrom is offering “Double Rewards Points” for all Nordstrom credit and Nordstrom “MOD” cardholders through the end of the year. Nordstrom customers typically earn two rewards points per net dollar spent at Nordstrom using a Nordstrom card. Safeway is doubling its “PowerPump Gas Rewards” for gift cards purchased at its more than 1700 stores. “PowerPump” is available in all Safeway U.S. markets including its Vons, Pavilions, Randalls, Tom Thumb, Carrs, Genuardis and Dominicks banners. Customers outside of the vicinity of a Safeway fuel station will receive double gas rewards to use at a BP or ARCO station through year end. Meanwhile, through December 24th, customers who make a purchase of $499 or more with their “Chase Worklife Rewards Visa” credit card at any Office Depot retail location nationwide or online at www.officedepot.com wont have to make a payment until January 2010. Additionally, new card members a $20 bonus rebate after their first purchase with the card.
