Next week Fifth Third Bank will begin dispensing pre-paid phone cards from select ‘Jeanie Money Station ATMs’.
Fifth Third Bank is taking one-stop- shopping one step further — customers can now get pre-paid calling cards at select Fifth Third Jeanie(R)/Money Station ATMs!
On July 7, Fifth Third will become the first bank in Greater Cincinnati to offer phone cards through its ATMs. The cards offer 40 minutes of long-distance calling for just $10, and are perfect for students, travelers and emergency use.
Initially, Fifth Third will offer the cards at 10 Tristate ATM sites at:
— Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport
— Fountain Square
— Eastgate Mall
— Fair Oaks Plaza Rt. 4, Fairfield
— Miami University, Oxford
— Northgate Mall
— Rookwood Plaza
— CitiCenter Mall, Columbus
— Northern Kentucky University
— Ohio State University
As the demand grows, Fifth Third will make the phone cards available at many additional Jeanie machines this summer. The card has step-by-step dialing instructions and is the size of a dollar bill. Cincinnati Bell Long Distance, which has partnered with Fifth Third Bank to provide calling cards in the past, is providing the long-distance service for the ATM phone cards.
“Fifth Third Bank is excited to announce its latest move in the electronic banking arena,” remarks Robert P. Niehaus, Executive Vice President, Retail Administration, Fifth Third Bancorp. “With the greatest number of ATMs in the region and our electronic banking expertise, it’s a natural step for us. We pioneered electronic banking in this area back in 1977 with Teller 24, the precursor to today’s Jeanie network. Our customers have demonstrated that they like having access to traditional brick and mortar locations, our seven-day-a-week Bank Marts, Jeanie Telephone Banking and our ATMs. We are confident that this test will be a winner for our customers and our shareholders!”
