With Maximum Miles from Hyatt, guests can earn quadruple miles on select airlines for every stay at Hyatt Hotels and Resorts worldwide between June 1 and August 31, 1998 when they stay two or more times during the period and charge their stay with the American Express Card. To participate in Maximum Miles, guests must enroll in Gold Passport, Hyatt’s worldwide frequent traveler program. Current Gold Passport members need only register for Maximum Miles to participate. With Maximum Miles, all guests can earn triple miles on qualifying stays (Hyatt’s standard 500 miles plus 1,000 bonus miles) with their choice of 15 Hyatt airline partners when they present their Gold Passport account number and participating airline membership account number. Or, American Express Cardmembers can earn quadruple miles (Hyatt’s standard 500 miles plus 1,500 miles) with select airlines when they charge their stays with the American Express Card and request the American Express Card “bonus” when they check-in.
Hyatt will automatically track participating stays and send a Maximum Miles bonus mileage award to qualifying members after October 15, 1998.
“Miles are probably the second most recognized currency in the world,” said Nan Moss, Hyatt’s Assistant Vice President of Marketing Programs. “A breakthrough offer such as Maximum Miles will be attractive to new members, in addition to the benefits of Hyatt’s already generous frequent guest program. At the same time, current Gold Passport members are receiving another exciting and rewarding reason to continue to choose Hyatt throughout this time period.” Courtney Taylor, Vice President of the Establishment Services Division for American Express, added, “American Express recognizes the important opportunity of partnering with Hyatt on the Maximum Miles promotion because of the added value it brings to our Cardmembers.”
