AT&T and Student Advantage rolled-out a new product yesterday that integrates the benefits and value of the ‘CALL ATT Calling Card’ and the ‘Student Advantage Membership Card’. The new ‘AT&T Student Advantage Card’ offers discounts of 10%-50% from more than 20,000 business locations across the country, AT&T’s ‘One Rate College Plan’ a rate of 20 cents per minute on qualifying calling card calls in the U.S. and access to special discounts on the ‘Student Advantage Network’. Last year AT&T offered its college student customers free, annual membership in the ‘Student Advantage Savings Program’. The ‘AT&T Student Advantage Card’ is being introduced through a host of on- and off-campus programs at more than 400 schools nationwide.
In an effort to simplify students’ lives and save them money, AT&T and Student Advantage today announced they are expanding their relationship to offer college students a product that integrates the benefits and value of the CALL ATT Calling Card and the Student Advantage Membership Card.
The new AT&T Student Advantage Card offers college students the convenience of a combined telephone calling card and discount card. Whether students are on- or off-campus, shopping or making telephone calls, this wallet-size card can save them money.
In 1997, AT&T offered its college student customers free, annual membership in the Student Advantage Savings Program. Starting today, students can apply for the new AT&T Student Advantage Card by calling toll-free 800-654-0471.
AT&T Student Advantage Card carriers receive a wealth of benefits that include:
— Discounts of 10-50 percent from more than 20,000 business locations across the country — like Amtrak, Staples and Tower Records;
— AT&T quality service and with AT&T’s One Rate College Plan a rate of 20 cents per minute on qualifying calling card calls anytime, anywhere in the U.S. (for non-operator assisted calls)(a);
— Access to special discounts on the Student Advantage Network (at http://www.studentadvantage.com)
Students who use the AT&T Student Advantage Card to make calling card calls can receive an extension of free Student Advantage membership for the next year. No monthly or annual fees apply for use of the calling card feature. AT&T also provides cardholders with comprehensive customer service and an individual, itemized phone bill.
“AT&T wants to simplify college students’ lives and save them money. We’re doing just that by combining the features and benefits of The Student Advantage membership with the CALLATT Calling Card,” said Earl Quenzel, vice president, education markets.
“The AT&T Student Advantage Card is a significant addition to the college student’s experience because it uniquely offers a way to make affordable phone calls when on the road while also providing discounts to students at more than 20,000 retailers that college students visit everyday,” said Ray Sozzi, president of Student Advantage. “We believe that this card will take its place next to the college ID as one of the most empowering and distinguishing components of a student’s life.”
The AT&T and Student Advantage partnership is supporting an extensive marketing and advertising effort that includes a national magazine, radio and television campaign. In addition, the AT&T Student Advantage Card is being introduced through a host of on- and off-campus programs at more than 400 schools nationwide.
