Freddie Awards

The annual reward awards were handed out last week to some fairly consistent winners. Diners Club Rewards won the “Best Frequent Traveler Affinity Charge/Credit Card Program” (Americas) for the fifth consecutive year and Starwood Preferred Guest was voted “Program of the Year” in both America and Internationally for the third year in a row. The 14th Annual Freddie Awards were voted by 161,000 readers of InsideFlyer magazine. The Freddie Award is named after aviation pioneer Sir Freddie Laker. In addition to being named the favorite program of the year – Diners Club received a 8.78 out of a possible 10 in terms of value delivered. The Card also placed second in “Best Bonus Promotion” for the British Airways Executive Club double bonus and third in “Best Value Award” for the Miles-to-Points program. Club Rewards now offers more than 450 redemption options including 26 frequent flyer programs. Starwood Preferred Guest members cited the program’s hassle-free award redemption, outstanding customer service, and innovative promotions and benefits for elite members. The program includes hotels and resorts under the St. Regis, The Luxury Collection, Westin, Sheraton, W Hotels and Four Points by Sheraton brands.
