Consumer Payment Card News

A new credit card designed to raise money for the Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization will be launched this weekend. The “Y-ME Platinum VISA” card will generate contributions based on the cardholder charge volume. Bank One will officially launch the card Sunday May 11th, when it serves as presenting sponsor of the “Y-ME RACE Against Breast Cancer,” a one or three mile walk and 5K run. Held each year on Mother’s Day in Chicago’s Grant Park, the event serves as both a fundraiser and as a celebration of survivorship and hope for those who have been touched by breast cancer. To support the launch, Bank One will donate US$75 for each new cardholder who applies and activates a “Y-ME Platinum VISA” card at the RACE. The card will be offered with an initial rate of 8.9% and no annual fee. For more information about the new card, visit
