Summer Promos

As summer 2003 kicks off this holiday weekend, all the major credit card brands in the USA have created special deals for fun in the sun. Most of the incentives offered this year are targeted at boosting the travel industry which has been hit by a weak economy, terrorism fears, and SARS. MasterCard is once again launching its Hyatt “Faster Free Nights” promotion, allowing “Gold Passport” members to earn unlimited free nights at resorts and hotels worldwide when their stay with Hyatt is paid for with any MasterCard. “Gold Passport” members earn a free night after every two stays when paying with any MasterCard card. VISA and Marriott have launched the “VISA Escape!” travel promotion for cardholders planning summer travel outside the USA and Canada. VISA cardholders will receive 20% off the regular package rate when they reserve a “Visa Escape! Package” for weekend stays, which includes breakfast for two and a room upgrade. VISA has also teamed again with Hilton “HHonors” to offer double points between this summer, when stays are booked online and completed by paying with a VISA card. American Express has launched a two-month promotion giving all “Delta SkyMiles” cardholders double miles for all purchases made on their cards through July 15th. Diners Club and British Airways announced the return of the “Double Miles” promotion between June 1 and August 31st, whereby cardholders can exchange one “Club Rewards” point for one “Executive Club” mile. Diners is also offering special promotions with Gap, Banane Republic, Old Navy Stores, Fairmont Hotels, and Fandango.
