Those mean green coin counting machines in supermarkets across the country are now enabling small donations for the Southeast Asia earthquake and tsunami relief effort. Consumers can choose to donate their spare change to either The U.S. Fund for UNICEF or the American Red Cross. The machines are provided by Coinstar. Coinstar machines are located in nearly 10,000 supermarket locations. The Company says 75% of the U.S. population lives within five miles of a Coinstar machine. Donors receive a tax receipt for the full amount of their donation. To find the nearest machine with a donation option, go to: “www.coinstar.com”:http://www.coinstar.com.
