Card Secrets

A 60-minute commercial-free documentary on the credit card industry will air again tonight on PBS. FRONTLINE’s “Secret History of the Credit Card,” which first aired in November, traces the development of the credit card business into a national industry with $30 billion in annual profits. The show features interviews with Senator Chris Dodd; Bill Janklow, former governor of South Dakota; financial services consultant Andrew Kahr; Ed Mierzwinski, consumer program director of the U.S. Public Interest Research Group; Elizabeth Warren, professor of law at Harvard University; Julie Williams, acting comptroller of the currency; the late Walter Wriston who served as chairman and CEO of Citicorp/Citibank; Edward Yingling, president of the American Bankers Association; and Robertmckinley, CEO of CardWeb.com.
