A new survey has found that more than half of the parents interviewed agreed that their teenage child thinks money grows on trees. The research, conducted in July, also found that parents ranked good personal financial skills and the handling of money ahead of both following the wrong crowd and drugs/alcohol use, in terms of concerns parents have for their children’s futures. The VISA study found that 76% of parents surveyed said their high school student does not have a budget.
