More than one in ten consumers have more than 10 credit cards in their wallets. However the overall average number of credit cards per consumer is four. An analysis of Experian’s latest nationwide survey also found that 51% have at least two credit cards; 14% use at least half of their available credit; the average number of credit cards for those using at least half of the available credit is 6.6; and the average credit score for those using at least half of available credit is 645, compared to the overall national average of 674.
