Foreign Fees

Consumers have less than six months to examine their credit card statements and file a claim for a refund of foreign transaction fees charged to their credit card in the past. Under a settlement reached in 2006, cardholders of VISA, MasterCard and Diners Club have until May 31st of this year to file for a refund of the fees. This is an extension of a previous deadline. The lawsuit involves credit card transactions made in a foreign currency, or with a foreign merchant, between February 1, 1996 and November 8, 2006.
