Affinity Cards

The affinity credit card market is alive and kickin. has launched its “Oregon-California Trails” Visa and its “Reach Out and Read” Visa affinity credit card programs, targeting the two million small and mid-size nonprofits/membership “micro-affinity” groups in the USA. For every card activated, the group will earn $50 per active account and an ongoing discount to every monthly charge total. Additional features include no annual fee, a 0% APR on purchases and balance transfers for the first six months and an APR of “Prime Rate” plus 5.90% following the introductory period. Last week, The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network teamed with CardPartner to launch a “Platinum Visa” credit card. Last month, MO-based UMB Financial and NY-based CardPartner partnered to offer “Visa Platinum” affinity credit card programs to thousands of small nonprofits and member-based groups “underserved” by the large credit card banks.
