A Beverly Hills stylist, Maria Gabriela Hashemipour, 51, has taken complete advantage of her celebrity clients in a scheme aimed at $1 million in credit card fraud. The beautician’s A-list celebrity clients include Jennifer Aniston, Halle Berry, and Cher according to her Web site.
The fraud investigation concluded that Hashemipour’s fraudulent credit card charges included:
$214,000 in fraudulent charges on two of Liv Tyler’s credit cards
$16,518 charged to actress Anne Hathaway
$8,200 charged to Melanie Griffith
$4,500 charged to Penelope Cruz
$22,205 charged to Cher
Hashemipour allegedly told her clients she was from Spain when she really came to the United States illegally from Mexico with a fraudulent passport. She was arrested at her business, Chez Gabriela Studio in Beverly Hills.
Maria Gabriela Hashemipour plead guilty to one charge and faces 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000 for her actions. She is also required to pay back all of the money she has stolen from her clients. Her fraudulent activities reportedly tallied roughly $1 million dollars.
