You’ve certainly heard the phrase, “There’s an app for that.” In many cases you can find an app for just about anything, from shopping via cell phone to actually accepting credit card payments on your phone. Here are some cool credit card and payment apps for your enjoyment.

  • Square / Square Card Reader – This app and card reader make direct deposit payments to your account as early as the very next day. There is a 2.75% swipe fee per transaction for all major credit cards. You can even accept your first credit card payment only minutes after getting started. This app and card reader both work for iPhone, iPad and Android.
  • Google Wallet – This app makes an impression of your debit or credit card on your smartphone so you can use it at various checkout stations. This is a relatively primitive app in that you must have Sprint and an Android phone with a near field communication (NFC) chip, but it may be one to keep on your radar.
  • Mint – Mint is a cool financial management app that allows you to organize and track all your bills and payments in one place. The app tracks the categories of your purchases as well as the amounts spent, and after some time in using it, you can even consider a proposed budget that Mint provides.

These are just three of the cool payment and credit card apps out there for your smartphone. New apps continue to pop up every day, so stay tuned to these and other payment management apps that can help you get a handle on your finances.
