DYK Discover is More Than a Top Credit Card Issuer – FYI Now One of Best Banks of 2017

Discover is a major U.S. credit card network and the third largest issuer (in number of cards) of U.S. bank (general purpose) credit cards, bested only by Chase and Capital One, according to 

Now Discover Bank has been named one of the Best Banks of 2017 as part of the fifth annual banking survey by GOBankingRates.

Discover was recognized in four of the five surveyed categories, including Best Savings Account, Best CD Account and received the Editor’s Pick Awards for Best Online Bank for Quality and Range of Products and for the Best Checking Account for Rewards.

This is the fourth year in a row that Discover has been recognized in the Best Banks study from GOBankingRates.

In the Best Banks of 2017 study, GOBankingRates compiled a list of the top 100 FDIC-insured banks by asset size that offer products nationally in the U.S. The study evaluated and ranked the banks on different factors, with the best banks offering the most favorable experience to customers. These 100 banks were ranked to find the top 10 in five different categories.

Discover Bank offers competitive interest rates on CDs, IRA CDs, savings and money market accounts. Discover’s Cashback Checking, which is currently available to all Discover cardmembers and deposit account owners, offers rewards for customers on up to 100 transactions per month.

Cash back is earned on debit card purchases, online bill payments, and checks cleared.
