The new benefits and services include: Uber Rides with Platinum, which provides up to $200 annually in Uber credits for U.S. rides and automatic VIP status where available, 5X Membership Rewards points for eligible hotels booked on amextravel.com, a new Global Dining Collection, an expanded Global Lounge Collection and enhanced global events, among other benefits and services.
The new annual fee for Platinum Card Membership is $550; for existing Card Members this new fee goes into effect on their annual renewal date on or after September 1, 2017.
To celebrate the official launch of the new Platinum Card benefits, American Express is giving select Card Members and Uber riders the opportunity to score tickets to attend exclusive experiences across the U.S., all taking place on Saturday, April 1, 2017. This event series showcases the types of premium access that come with Platinum Card Membership in areas Card Members are passionate about, including dining, sports and musical entertainment.
Starting on March 31, to kick off the celebration, select Platinum Card Members and Uber riders who receive an email from Uber with details about one of the Paint the Town Platinum events, can request a “Platinum Access” ride in their Uber app on April 1st for the opportunity to receive a pair of tickets to the event in their city – New York, Miami, Los Angeles or Chicago.
If connected with a “Platinum Access” ride, an Uber driver will deliver two complimentary tickets for that night’s event and an Uber ride credit for up to $25 to be used to ride to and from the event in style.
These exclusive experiences include:
• Tickets to a performance of the Broadway phenomenon Hamilton at the Richard Rodgers Theatre in New York, New York
• A progressive dining experience at Bazaar Mar — James Beard award-winning chef José Andrés’ newest restaurant located within the SLS Brickell Hotel & Residences in Miami, Florida
• VIP tickets to LA’s basketball showdown at the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, CA
• VIP tickets to the Chicago Bulls game at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois
As the new Platinum Card benefits and services were designed for the modern global traveler, American Express is debuting an entirely new, travel-inspired creative advertising platform that invites viewers to explore the world with the Platinum Card.
The campaign, which begins on April 3, features vibrant ads that bring to life unforgettable moments experienced while travelling the globe. The campaign – a mix of print, out-of-home and digital ads – take viewers on immersive journeys across the world with actress Alicia Vikander as the voice of the Platinum Card and music from artists Portugal the Man, Icona Pop and Bebe Rexha.
