Joe Six Pack Investors Can Tap Street Action w/No Min Zero Expense Index Mutual Funds

No Cost Index Mutual Funds Available to Anyone

Starting today investors can access two brand new, cost-free index mutual funds offered by the 800 pound gorilla of the retail investment market: Fidelity.

The new Fidelity ZERO Large Cap Index Fund (FNILX) and Fidelity ZERO Extended Market Index Fund (FZIPX), is now available to individual investors with little or no skin upfront. Typically funds of this breed carry next expense fees of 0.3% to 0.14% with some assessing higher fees. Additionally, competitors like Vanguard require a $3,000 minimum investment.

The new Fidelity ZERO Large Cap Index Fund will seek to provide investment results that correspond to the total return of stocks of large-capitalization U.S. companies.

The other new mutual fund, Fidelity ZERO Extended Market Index Fund seeks to provide investment results that correspond to the total return of stocks of mid- to small-capitalization U.S. companies.

Fidelity’s ZERO funds, the only zero expense ratio index mutual funds available directly to individual investors, now provide market exposures representative of over two-thirds of industry index assets giving investors the broader choice of market coverage they need.

Since launching on August 2, 2018, Fidelity’s first two zero expense ratio funds – Fidelity ZERO Total Market Index Fund (FZROX) and Fidelity ZERO International Index Fund (FZILX) – have grown to more than $1 billion in assets.

By the way, Fidelity has assets under administration of $7.2 trillion, including managed assets of $2.6 trillion. The investment company has more than 27 million people investing their own life savings, 23,000 businesses manage employee benefit programs, as well as providing more than 12,500 financial advisory firms with investment and technology solutions to invest their own clients’ money.

Fidelity recently announced ground-breaking changes that provide more value to investors, including zero minimums for account opening, zero investment minimums on Fidelity retail and advisor mutual funds and 529 plans, zero account fees, zero domestic money movement fees and significantly reduced index pricing.

Additionally, Fidelity provides a number of services for free or at a very low cost, such as Fidelity’s no annual fee 2% cash back credit card; free debit card and ATM fee reimbursement; free check writing and bill pay; free portfolio review at any of Fidelity’s nationwide network of investor centers; free asset allocation models for diversified and income portfolios; and transparent bond pricing at $1 per contract5.
