Travel jitters have forced the cancellation of one of the payment card industry’s biggest events. The International Card Manufacturers Association said last week they have pulled the plug on the 11th Annual Card Manufacturing EXPO 2001 that was scheduled to take place next month in Athens, Greece. This is the first time the association has ever canceled an event. ICMA officials said it considered several elements before coming to the decision, including reluctance by members to travel at this time and travel limits that have been imposed on employees of various companies. ICMA says it is now redirecting its energy into making next year’s EXPO in Vancouver even better. For more information visit http://www.icma.com.
