While most plastic gift cards are limited to a certain retailer and amounts of $100 or less, there is a new gift card that beats them all, hands down. It’s the OmniGift Card. The new gift card is a personalized MasterCard that is available in amounts ranging from $10 to $1,000. Since MasterCard is now accepted at more than 16 million locations worldwide, the OmniGift Card provides the ultimate in flexibility. However the gift card cannot be used to obtain cash at an ATM. The Omni Gift card program also offers the option of recharging the card with additional amounts if the initial card denomination is more than $100. Cardholders may also check their remaining card balance over the phone or through the Internet. If the card is lost or stolen then the cardholder can request an immediate deactivation of the card by calling a special phone number. (There is small service fee to replace a lost or stolen card.) Prices for the OmniGift Card are based on the dollar amount placed on the card and include standard shipping, handling and bank charges. The card rate schedule is: $5.95 for $10-$100, $9.95 for $101-$200, $17.95 for $201-$500 and $28.95 for $501-$1,000. Consumers can order the card using a credit card. The card may be ordered online or by phone. The phone number is: 1-888-OMNIGIFT. The website is: http://www.omnigift.com. Purchasers may also choose to include a short, personal note up to 200 characters in length with the gift. The OmniGift Card is sent directly to the recipient or mailed to the purchaser. The recipient will first get a custom gift announcement personalized with a holiday message. Then, the embossed OmniGift Card is mailed within three business days. The OmniGift Card is good for one full year after purchase. If the card expires, the balance, less a small handling charge, is returned by check to the cardholder.
